The first pieces of a plot twist seem to be building which makes it all more exciting

The start is more difficult than that of The Final Empire or Well of Ascension. It’s a darker more grim world this time around and there is no vision or path to make things better. Everything seems to focus on surviving just a bit longer, but that they’re still doomed. It’s only in the last twenty to fifty pages that Sanderson has created small hooks that are like lightbulbs that turn on in the distance.
