This is what enrages me. Shut up. I can do anything and everything. You don't get to dictate me.

These are some things people around me say which makes me wish i didn't have to be a girl

"Girls shouldn't roam around. They should be decent and stay put in their homes"
"You're a girl, you're going to be a "wife" how will you take care of your husband if you're like this"
(Why the f- are u always referring to me as an object for marriage)

"Girl, you can't go on a trip now cuz you're on your periods"
(Wth??!! So u don't trust me that i can take care of myself)

"A woman's (a girl's) beauty comes from her hair. Why did u cut your hair? You lost all your beauty"
(Shut up i can do what i want with my hair and that has nothing to do with beauty or whatev or even if it does i don't give a damn thank u very much)

"You're a girl. Be decent. Wear decent. Your top/shirt must cover your butt. Don't wear tight clothes. Don't wear square neck dresses. Don't wear too loose clothes it makes u look like a joker"

It totally is hard.. definitely makes you appreciate the next part of the month where you suddenly feel amazing like you can accomplish anything. Is really hard tho not being able to go swimming..

One time I had a sore throat and it made me sound like a 13-year-old boy going through puberty. It. Was. TRAUMATIC.
And for a brief, delusional moment, I thought, wow… if I were actually a boy, this would be my origin story. I’d suffer now and emerge later with a deep, calming, audiobook-narrator voice. You know the guy who voices Kai Azer from the audiobook that’s what I was going for🙂‍↕️
But NO. False hope. Lies. Deception.
My voice just snapped back to normal like nothing ever happened.
So not only did I suffer—I gained nothing.
