(chapter 14 in review) okayyy so esther may be in some kind of psychologically fucked up trance at the moment and she’s just going through the motions. does that excuse her racism? no. however, i truly believe that everything about this chapter was intentionally written. anywhooo, the repetition with words / statements is kinda crucial. also the names of people that clearly aren’t names of people…hmmm

Okayyyy, I am totally starting to see why Esther is a little weird. It’s all intentionally done. I think Sylvia Plath is a great writer in that way because she genuinely takes time to dissect her characters in her head and then deliver those thoughts into a novel. Esther is so so human, and I appreciate that.
