I was probably 12 when a substitute pastor taught this at my old church and I walked out just traumatized and confused bc I didn’t have *that* conversation with my parents until I was 14, so I was just really confuzzled at the end of that sermon 😭

yeah gurl I was (and kinda still am) extremely sheltered 😭 and daang that’s young 🥀 (or maybe normal for most idk but at least I learned it from my parents, others I know are less fortunate)
Gianna,wow I’m fifteen. I can’t even imagine my parents trying to talk to me about that now— my mom explained it very basically when I was young and I guess I never realized that people made it to being teenager before being taught about things 😭

yeah I get that. It’s all up to the parents, and I guess my mom didn’t want me to think about that kind of stuff while I was young. In fact, she probably would’ve waited until I was older because I asked her some questions that lead to the birds and bees conversation for me to understand the original question. yeah, I walked back inside a new girl that day 😂

LOL no I get that! there were a lot of things I assumed were normal since they were done in my house while I was young, but I learned that’s not how it is. It’s just how you were raised!
Don’t feel sorry, what they did was incredibly stupid and gross 🤢 I read it for the first time by myself and it was so disgusting
No yeah it's really gross, don't feel bad, it may be the Bible but that doesn't mean what they did was right. (also it wasn't until I was 11 that I had that conversation just because I never questioned things, but I'm also public-schooled so my mom had to tell me at some point...)
