Oh this sounds really interesting, I once read an essay abt academia (in William Deresiewicz's End of Solitude, a great essay collection) (actually he might've had multiple essays on academia?) and I remember it being v good and giving me new thoughts so definitely interested in this one too, looking forward to hearing what you think!
