I remember the Draconic Kingdom of Yscalin being mentioned a few times in Priory so it would be interesting to see how this ties into it. I also remeber a certain Kitston Glade’s death but I’ll pretend that I don’t. I’m very interested to re-read it again. I miss Ead! And I cannot wait for a new book in this series. I really hope it’d be the first bloods (Cleolind, Kalyba and Neporo) book!

I loved Marosa and I wish we’d gotten more of her. Aubrecht was also great. And Melaugo’s chapters were too few. I love the mythos of this world so much and I think I’m re-reading Priory right now! It’s been seven years, I think it’s time.

I liked this book but not as much as Prioy of the Prange Tree or even A Day of Fallen Night (though Priory is still my favorite). I think I wanted more perhaps? I wanted things to be a bit more bleak and hopeless (though things were indeed pretty bleak and hopeless) maybe reading this almost right after reading the whole First Law books skewed my standards a bit but oh well.

I went and did the math and the fact that Sahar died (or was killed) at the age of forty is insane. I hate Sigoso so much.

I liked Wilstan Fynch, why on earth did he not afflict himself? Poor Marosa.

I feel so bad for Yscabel, she’s just a kid. And Jondu too…I’m glad she died fighting. Poor Marosa, she can’t catch a break.

I can’t believe it’s been a year.

So Sigoso III has killed Rosarian IV, but why though? And how? If the poison burns everything it touches no cup will be strong enough to hold it, unless it’s made from the same glass the vial is made of right? But then again there’s the bolt of cloth and the dress so how does that fit in? I’m so intrigued.

What I don’t understand is why Sennera was lying about the whole thing? No way they’re still standing with Sigoso after what happened. There are Wyverns on the roofs and their population took a plunge. Why on earth still support him? It’s insane.
