Being religious myself, I hardly need to be convinced by Douthat, but I somehow doubt his arguments would convince skeptics either. Maybe his approach is “hindered” by his faith - he can’t truly examine all aspects in an unbiased way. So maybe Christianity specifically should have been his focus, instead of religion in general.
