finished Chp 4: six weeks of terror right before bed 😀👍 I was bracing myself for the recount of the violence up to this point and unfortunately this chapter was incredibly horrifying. def don’t read before bed!!

I had to temporarily suspend my disbelief for “The Nazi who saved Nanking” because how good could this guy be for doing the humane thing if he was a Nazi leader. Rabe often consulted the Nazi party back in Germany for diplomatic relations as a fellow Axis. I guess two things can be true.
