for what an effort there is in this book to fully cartograph the dj diaspora, brewster and broughton’s historiography so far is not infallible to typecasting the established, and establishing as a sort of white savior. hypocritical, in light of - and even working against - its incidental effort to decry the dj’s era-to-era commodification.
