Okay, im glad Miyuki is calling Annie out for basically being slow ASF in investigating the house… this has been my biggest issue so far. It’s like Annie is doing everything but what she should be doing.

I still am not falling for the whole, “it would be so terrible if detective crane solved the murder first and then Oliver sold the house and developed whatever would make them the most money” villain plot….
Like Okay, and? Who cares.. The author has set this entire book up to make the gravestone estate seem evil—and only brought the town bad luck. Now we’re supposed to give a fuck if it’s destroyed?

I honestly don’t blame Oliver for wanting to develop the town… like how is Rose running her hotel going to get her away from the loss of Frances? Like he’s a business man and just keeping it real

I totally missed this on my first read through. She really just was walking around absent minded as fuck, but somehow is the only stand out investigator against these literal detectives?
