Lyrical and witty. I love the voices of her characters. They feel so real and nuanced. Istanbul seems like a sensory treasure trove. Elif brilliantly captures the smells and sounds of the bustle and silence of a living city. History, heartbreak, memory, family, secrets and truth that only love can bring forth. Identity and belonging. So good so far.
