I can’t believe Lila fed Henry dog food for dinner. The bit about the kids leaving the rotting turtle in the Newbury house was kind of excellent and endearing tribute to Lila.

Tolitha is very funny in the last chapter.

The dinner with Lowenstein and Tom at the end of the previous chapter is a nice scene. Lots of little quotes I really liked from there.

So far I’ve cried at least once. The last chapter has also been pretty wild with their mother’s 4th stillborn child. Her calling Tom into the bedroom where she was grieving and telling him that he’s her favorite, and that his two other siblings are nothing compared to him, and that everything depends on him.
