This book is long and drawn-out, but it is simultaneously drawing me IN. It's so easy to see who the "bad guy" is from the start, but as a reader we are just as trapped as the protagonists (of which there are many, each lovingly and painstakingly described so you can't help but feel for them). I crave a happy ending, but I'm just not sure if it will happen!
