Afterthoughts pt.4:
I related very strongly to Sam’s struggle with Ryan as I struggle with the same obliviousness and heartache that he does, which was both frustrating and humbling at the same time. Also loved all the side characters — seriously, all of them, from Gary, Tiggy, and Ryan, to Mama and Moishe, to the King and Morgan and Sam’s parents, to Kevin and Randall and, hell, even Justin (kind of).

There’s so much more I could say about this, and I might come back to do so at a later point, but probably not because I plan to fully immerse myself in the rest of the series as promptly as possible so I’ll see you in the next one, lad! Overall I’m giving this book a 5/5 because it did everything I needed it too and I didn’t stop enjoying it for a single second. Amen and Godspeed 🫡

There were some spelling and grammar errors here and there, but as an avid fan fiction reader, I just made note of them and moved on. Couldn’t care less to be honest.
Speaking of fan fiction, this was written in the exact style and tone and with the exact sense of humour that I write my fanfics with. It was so wildly up my alley it’s hard to even fathom it.

As for the bad guys, I loved the Darks as people, Tina as Sam’s mortal enemy, and to be honest I just kinda felt bad for Justin. I didn’t really understand the whole arranged marriage thing considering Anthony didn’t really strike me as the type, but I guess you never know.

Okay I waited till the next morning idgaf. Just know I finished it on the 9th of Jan ‘26 at abt 10pm
Anyway, I *really* enjoyed this book. It was fun, adventurous, hilarious, an all round good time, and I couldn’t put the fucking thing down for the life of me.
I also really liked being able to make notes in the book while reading it. First time doing it, super convenient.

I’m pretty exhausted rn and wish Goodreads had a way to leave private reviews on books so I could go to sleep now and do this in the morning but alas. We shall do it now.

Dude!!! This book was a fucking *blast!!* Seriously, a shit ton of fun. Had me giggling incessantly and I genuinely could not put it down once I was properly into it — which took all of two pages.
Like, I’m serious. I haven’t been this enthralled in a book in years and I am not exaggerating (I mean I have been in a bit of a reading slump for years but you get the point).
