God help us, this begins as another borderline YA book, like The Wolves of Eternity. I keep giving Knausgaard the benefit of the doubt because I loved My Struggle so much, but this is such mediocre and robotic writing. The Knausgaardian angsty male POV is a tired trope at this point.

very eager to hear your thoughts as you continue to make progress. There was so much praise around this book, but I've honestly struggled with the Morning Star series...

Thanks! The series has definitely had its ups and downs for me too. I find all the young POVs just dreadfully written; it’s not until Knausgaard switches to one of the adults, especially ones directly connected to the morning star phenomenon, that things get interesting to me.
