Elan decided to twist the Hero Twins genre upside down.
At end of his story hero twins are separated w/o right know for their world—whale/boy in sky, girl-bird in sea— Elan says, that’s the freedom & danger of know…you may discover your most cherished traditions are all wrong…you may be forced to examine your own close-held beliefs & stories…only then will you have true know; tradition is an empty ear.
