I think there might be an ambush. How fast can the Queen orchestrate one? If Midas is in the sixth kingdom, is he allowing Malina to rule on her own, or is she remaining powerless?

Midas could have let her know his plan in advance.

I think there’s a betrayal in the works. The fifth king will probably betray king Midas with his army while having that night with Auren, or Midas will betray him by using Auren as the distraction.
