The part where Molly is secretly gloating about how envious Alison is of her hula skirt…I have a greater understanding of the Molly Stan’s and their Liz Lemon ways. Also Alison’s angel costume still sounds amazing…IDK it is hard to make a straw anything feel luxe but I get the point is to be evocative of what these dumb greatest generation families think Hawaiian culture looks like

In a handful of pages you already get such meaningful and introspective prose about Molly and her frustration about her family changing so radically now that her Dr Father is in The UK providing medical services during WWII. I also love Mrs McIntire talking about how there are and will continue to be challenges beyond having to eat gross turnips and the beautiful illustration of her and Molly at the kitchen table
