Was I just not paying attention because I consider them extras, or was there no prior indication that Dan and Matt are dating?? Meanwhile, gotta love Neil and his non-reaction to a supposedly harrowing death. He doesn't have the spoons to care about some random teammate overdosing, c'mon!

The actual gameplay of Exy still doesn't make much sense but also I've rarely cared this much about the outcome of a sports season this much in any number of better-written sporty books, so there's that 🤷♀️

I can't remember when I figured out that Matt and Dan were a couple, but you could always blame Neil as he's the kind of POV who only thinks about the mafia and murder and the game, so they prob made out in front of him and he never even noticed.
