The ending felt rushed but I’m so excited to see where Rhyan and Lyr go from here. They have a lot of potential that I hope is expanded upon in the 3rd book

Hal turned into one of the monsters that then turned into Lyrs trial. Which put the whole Ka in a bad spot. It ended with something pushing strength into Lyr to win since Rhyan was all tied up.
After Lyr won she was starting to fade in and out of consciousness. And that’s when her dad was murdered by the crowd.

That didn’t go over super well.
Now Lyr is cautious with Rhyan and their relationship.
Tristan’s grandmother is PISSED even though it wasn’t Lyrs fault it was her Ka fault that they let akidim in

Lyr discovers that Rhyan is a traveler and has vorka as well which makes her nervous for him.
They share a moment after the city is under attack which is why Lyr discovers, he uses it to get out of the situation.
When they come back to cresthaven Tristian’s cousin was turned and her apprentice was killed. It was discovered that the two were in a relationship so they were written off saying it was their punishment

Tristian seems to be distancing himself from Lyr. Before she was wary but now she doesn’t seem to care that much about the growth between them.
Rhyan and Lyr are caught in a compromising position where the first messenger comes and ruins the moment AGAIN.

Rhyan and Lyr share another moment

Rhyan knows about meera and Morgana now and he finally understands why she was hurt and Tristian didn’t know about it
He says he will keep this to himself but meera is hesitant. But I do fully believe Rhyan when he says this

The warlord comes in the midst of them in bed and lyr is a bit more snarky than usual with him but blames it on the attack. When he leaves Rhyan say how he is sorry about the incident because of all these reasons. But Lyr is saying it was both of them not just him. The two leave it at that and it being awkward
The tension has been there but neither one of them acted on it until this moment

Rhyan struggles with nightmares while lyr is there from another attack. She goes to wake him up and he tries to prove that he is a bad person. He does this by trying to start something between the two of them. Saying he had nothing to loose. That didn’t sit well with Lyr so she told him no. The two sleep.
When they wake up, Lyr & Rhyan share a hot and heavy moment that seems like something old is happening.
