i think it’s interesting that the story itself is a lot sadder and does not have the same tone or atmosphere that the movie does—i think the movie made some nice changes but whyyyy did the move it from detroit to florida???????? i already know i’m going to go down some spiral about what gaitskill thought of the adaptation.

interesting that Secretary is the first story with a first person pov

it kills meeee that she doesn’t write more stories from a woman’s perspective… i’m tired of reading about men who think they’re freaked out lol. i liked the friendship/romance in “Connection,” best so far.

also, she’s obsessed with ann arbor lol.
