Archetypes: The story Holes I think most relates to Voyage, because Stanley and all of the other boys go to a strange land/ the camp and had to work together to bring down the camp and escape. Also Rebirth is also included, because all of the boys who were once bad changed their ways and improved their lives after bringing down Camp Green Lake.

Visualize: On pg.26 it says" the shovel felt heavy in Stanleys soft, fleshy hands. he jammed it into the earth, but the blade banged against the ground and bounced off without making a dent." this scene helps me visualize and fell his fleshy hands gripping on to that shovel and inserting it into the ground. I can smell the dust coming from where his shovel was slammed, and I can hear the loud bang of the shovel.

Making Connections: This book reminds me of summer 2022, because the book Holes is about kids who become friends, and do labor to leave Camp Green Lake. In summer 2022 me and my friends would go door to door trying to do chores for money. Our goal was to save up to 500 dollars each. By the end of the summer me and my friend ended up making 1,000 dollars each. This shows how my personal life connects with this book.

Characterization: Over time while reading this book I have realized that Stanley Yelnats is a very kind hearted person. I know this because several times the characters in the book stated that he is a very kind person and was only at the bad camp because he was wrongly convicted of his crime. This is just one of the reasons how I was able to figure out how Stanley is portrayed in the book.
