I am working on a project for writing school, and was wondering if any of you could help me out! All I need you to do is answer a few questions.
1) When you are looking for a Contemporary YA book, what do you want to see in the story? What gets you most excited about reading it?
2) What problems do you run into? What do you NOT want to see in Contemporary YA and why does it frustrate you?
Thank you so much!

I love cozy settings in contemporary, with realistic details (like with school settings and friend dynamics). character voice is also really important, if you get that wrong the whole book feels unrealistic 😂

I love true, genuine stories of faith and hope and relationships that are meaningful. I feel like a lot of YA passes off on shallow, quick relationships so you leave going ok Ik they're together now but there's no way they're staying together. I like YA books that you can tell the author really loved and put some effort into, instead of relying on cliches. The characters voices are truly unique and the story is sweet and character-driven. Hope that helps!
