This started sooo slow. But it’s finally picking up its pace again. So far: Dahl has been a king, Brin has been dull and helpless, Havilar is (spoiler, iykyk) and Farideh is haunted. And Lorcan is following the rules of The Game (TM). 🤺

The thick is plotenning. They're wearing Shar's colours and all around, people die and wake up. Also, Cormyr loves stupid laws and racism.
That ship has sailed, she told herself. No - That ship had never been in her harbour.

In the fourth book, after 1677 pages, there's finally some smut. Praise Asmododeus. Don't tell me we don't work hard for a little spice. Also, there's a plot concerning Cormyr's royal line, Lady Shar and the whole debacle about being the chosen of the most horrible god of the underworld.
:-) Just my cup of tea.

Farideh really is the main character for this book and I love it. You go, girl.
”When people look over at this table,” he said, “we want them to see a man and a woman, out for a drink. The man is clearly more interested in her than she is in him […]” 🥺
