Lowkey can’t believe I was able to read the whole incense burner chapter (GIVE ME A BADGE OF I SURVIVED ALLAT) I had to actually read slowly for this one cuz I got too shy. The Lan family banquet chapter was so sweet, though the writer conveyed the suffocating energy of the Lan clan so well, I loved it and loved having an update of some of the characters post canon!!!

Also the moment Wei Wuxian begged for Lan Xichen to beg him to tell him everything oh my god that moment felt so tense, idk if I misremembered but the way it’s written in the book makes me feel all the helplessness Wei Wuxian felt at that moment!

It hurt to just read this chapter holy I know this story front to back even before reading but this moments always hurt, even when I read it in the manhua it physically hurt me more visualizing it. Reading Jiang Cheng breaking down and Wei Wuxian discussing with him what had happened on the past always hits hard.
