For the first third of the book, it sounded like Avery was a teenager and I was like, "okay teenagers like sex. Expected." Then it took a turn and Avery started sounding more adult. I don't know yet, but, this book is giving strong indigenous Hannah Montana The Movie vibes. Cute when it came out but now obsolete. Will see how the ending goes...
