A slow read so far; the pacing, characters and setting is so sedate. There are no quotation marks to indicate speech, slowing me down as at times I'm not sure whether the character is in dialogue with another or if it's just more narrative, what with it being her telling the story.

I'll continue, but this isn't a page turner and could be a rare time when it takes more than a week to read a book of this length!
