I also didn't like that the bad guy got off scot free, not even a slap on the wrist. Not fair. On the positive: it was a happy ending.

Wow. This one is tough to rate. I absolutely adored Vivian but I had difficulty warming up to Mallory. Through 65% of the book, I felt Mal deserved Alan and vice versa; Mal definitely didn't deserve Viv. Towards the end, happily, that all changed and Mal redeemed himself eventually but it took awhile and it was a rough journey.
