This author likes to torture her characters. She kills everyone they love and forces them to marry the wrong people for the wrong reasons. I’m finding it quite frustrating. I’m hoping that it will have some sort of happy ending, but it seems doubtful. The picture she paints of God is rather bleak and cruel. I actually feel rather sorry for her if this is her view and experience of God.
