It strikes me that one of the strengths - and weaknesses - of it is that the author seems to be struggling through so many of the thoughts, feelings and revelations of its characters. I still find it long, but it is immersive, even if clumsy. There’s so much she wants to say, and she frequently does, in fact, say it.

At 130 pages, it already feels rather long

There are moments - and glimpses of what Woolf would do and come to be. But it’s a shaky affair so far
