Look, aside from the obvious age gap and what ages they were when they married, I think Jacob is the best-case scenario for her, given the type of world here. I kinda like him bc he’s not oppressive

Also, as much as I’m enjoying this so far, the writing style is a bit dry in terms of anything other than the dragons so far.
We’ve just learned about her miscarriage, but it doesn’t really feel impactful. We kind of just move right on along

I have to imagine this is a Victorian style world we’re in, and yes women were and still are (unfortunately) married so young. But this is fictional; did she really HAVE to be 17 when she married a 23yo?
