Also, as much as I’m enjoying this so far, the writing style is a bit dry in terms of anything other than the dragons so far.

I have to imagine this is a Victorian style world we’re in, and yes women were and still are (unfortunately) married so young. But this is fictional; did she really HAVE to be 17 when she married a 23yo?
