Set in the early 60's, the story follows Bobby, a lonely boy raised by a distant mother, whose life changes when he befriends old Ted Brautigan. Ted is on the run from the Crimson King's "Low Men" and enlists Bobby to be his sentry.
There are connections throughout the story with King's Dark Tower series. Good idea to start the Dark Tower series first.
