The siege of Leningrad portion is good. I will admit that I have found tracking characters to be difficult at times. After seeing some of the patronyms repeatedly it has gotten easier.

The prose during the site draws a great comparison between the sounds of battle and the music of a symphony.

The use of patronymics is a bit tricky, but I have found that if I keep pushing through I can sort who they are referring to in the book
