man this shannara world is much more desolate and sad than the previous 3. Lord

Build up is going on for too long. The quest needs to start proper, aka we need a call to action from a druid, and we haven't had that yet. But we're decently far in page count-wise

This book is starting with a bunch of references to the 1st 3 books. Nothing wrong with that I spose given that theres a 5 year gap between this and Wishsong via publication.
