The two chapters I just read were reeaaally good!! The chapters on Status and Attitude were thorough and I’d never really thought of them in writing before. I added a TON of red tabs across both chapters. Awesome stuff!

FINALLY finished it!! It’s been almost two years now since I’ve started reading it (Oops!), and this contains the best writing advice I’ve ever read. I like how thorough James is and I like his writing philosophy of writing organically instead of something like a series of strict plot points to reach or something like that. Really great, great advice and I’ll be revisiting it in the future :)

Yup, that’s what The Road does with not using quotation marks at all

Leigh is a master at finding a third way. It’s the premise of SoC/CK. I really liked this chapter

Leigh kinda does this in the Grishaverse, but the difference is that the povs end up being interesting and enthralling so I forget about the previous chapter’s cliffhanger. It’s all woven together.

I really enjoyed the previous chapter on scenes and found it very useful regarding how scenes should work what might make them not work. Also loved the “Yes, but” and “No, and” part. Oh! And how to do subtext. Very useful stuff

I love the idea of just writing everything that comes to mind and letting the story form organically
