the first point this book made doesn’t share the whole story. at first i thought it was right for people to stop trying questionable treatments that would maybe prolong their life, but make them sicker. it’s not always the goal of these patients to prolong their life, but rather, to take steps towards preventing the same outcome for others through research and trials.

i have no reason for this but i’m waiting for the eugenics shoe to drop. so far, the coast seems clear.

now it’s covering what the options are for the elderly and poses a lot of concerns about now and the future. i understand now why so many people have kids so that someone can take care of them and manage their affairs in their old age. aren’t many other options i think everyone should read or listen to this book.

i was worried about where this book would go but after listening to a bit, i can relate a lot of this to my grandpas current situation. the book is pushing that the medical system knows when to call it and not put people through these questionable treatments that make them feel awful to try and extend their life a little bit. do you want to try and live longer if the treatment just makes you feel like shit?
