This book has unbelievably beautiful prose and my book is literally littered with sticky notes to prove it but I feel like true enjoyment of this novel hinges on a sort of childhood nostalgia that I do not possess.
In Chapter 18, Beckman writes, "Everyone should be allowed to be fourteen for far longer than a year. There are so many other ages we could skip instead..." and ahhh, you could not pay me to be 14 again.
