Yall I started this as an AUDIOBOOK!! Are you proud? I’m loving watching Suchi and Haiwen’s relationship unfold switching from past to present tense. The backdrop of war and imperialism looms on but the love story is clearly front and center.

Not me getting choked up already!!!
The context we get from the “past” chapters are so helpful for grounding in the present and beyond providing color to the characters and their relationship they give much needed contrast so we see the people they were then how decisions/life changed them to who they are now. I’m rooting so hard for Suchi + Haiwen
Side note: Suchi’s dad is hikey awesome
