I thought I was reading too much into things in earlier pages when I saw dinyl and joron described as ‘more than friends’ before their fall out but they are then explicitly declared as past lovers. It seems rather out of the blue and confusing as there wasn’t any outright mention of this in the previous book. There weren’t even subtly hints.
