I'll be wrapping this up after my lunch hour. 47 minutes left on the audiobook at 2x speed (my usual reading speed). Still not sure I like this one. Mia Sheridan has been hyped up by a close friend for years, so I'll definitely check out some of her other work, but I'm disappointed. Hopefully this is just a one-off. :/

I'm not sure I like these main characters, the first 11 chapters were all backstory/character relationship building before we even got to the apocalypse plotline, and if I wasn't listening to it, I'm not sure I'd continue reading Heart of the Sun. It's just not grabbing me and the characters are annoying. This was one of my most anticipated books of 2025. So disappointing so far. :/
