the pacing of the new year scene was fantastic with all of the little stories that each character shares, the events that happen around them, a classic tangent, and eventually knausgaard helping the russian lady. it just flows so naturally and it can almost be mistaken as meaningless, but in those gaps of overt meaning something unique arises. what it is i can’t put into words right now, but it feels revelatory

First time in a while I’ve read 100 pages in a day. Feels great!
Knausgaard proves once again that I have no unique experiences (kidding, but how does this random norwegian guy know all of this stuff about me?).
There’s such a natural way he goes about recounting these times in his life and when he leads into a philosophical tangent it works seamlessly!
