This is my third book by Rosemary Sutcliff, and once again I'm impressed at how vividly she immerses her readers into this vibrant historical setting.
This story had a slow start but things are really beginning to pick up the pacing and action. Definitely will be finishing this book by tonight... even if it means staying up late. 🤭

I liked this one a lot. It's a toss up between the two I've read as to which is best, but they were sooo good, immersive, beautiful language, and rich with interesting history.

Sutcliff's writing style has always been something I've enjoyed returning to. I'm looking forward to reading the other two books in the trilogy at some point.
Sutcliffe and Tolkien's writing styles are inspirational to me. I love how they write, and I want to be like them. I love reading prose like that.
