How frustrating to see how obviously crazy her relationship with V is, how early that is clear and how the mind knows more than the heart will admit. Or is it the other way around.

I’ve now finished Vol 1 The Yellow Notebook in this collected diaries.

I love the reflections on life as an author, hate the dream sequences (I nearly always do in books) and only vaguely interested in Garners love life.

The gold, for me, is in the behind the scenes of her books.
