Jeffrey Greek is 30% done

Once again, I'm amazed at how long it takes for anything to happen in this series. A good rule of thumb for this series is: anything involving the village of the Mud People is going to be long, drawn-out, and boring as hell.
Also, the completely inconsistent characterizations based solely upon what the author needs a character to do at any given moment is really, really annoying.

This far into the book, and Richard is still not on his way to The Palace of the Prophets. WHICH IS THE ONLY THING NECESSARY TO FORWARD THE GODDAMNED PLOT! I do not give a single, solitary shit about the nebulous love story between Richard and Kahlan, because I know that it will collapse under even the lightest of weight. Because Terry Goodkind is a shitty writer who, after over 1000 pages, hasn't advanced it at all.
