I don’t know how to feel.
I really want to enjoy this book, it seems to be exactly up my alley, Gus很大方又善良to Hazel, but I don’t understand why. 我不懂 the feelings of a teenage boy, 我認為作者沒有do a good job and explaining Gus’s emotions through his actions. Maybe that’s my fault. I couldn’t understand Ari’s emotions either. Do I suffer from illiteracy, or is Gus just performative?
