The last half of this chapter really struck something inside of me. It took all my emotional control to not shed a tear in this cafe. Al Pacino’s mother died when he was quite young. Her death was a possible suicide as she struggled mentally, and didn’t have the ability to seek help or resources. They were dirt poor. He regrets never telling her that he was gonna make it. She died before he became Al Pacino.

I wonder what it is about some of the greatest actors of all time coming from troubled households. What’s the correlation between unstable parents and flocking to the theater? Odd.
