Weird. The exploration party doesn't want to use fir in their campfire. Fir is an excellent firestarter, though. It's saved me while camping in below freezing temperatures, while everything else refused to burn due to cold and dampness. Just a strange, little detail.

If they didn't want any witnesses, then why did they leave the body unburied. The tarp full of dirt was right there. They went to the trouble of killing the witness while he was still in the dug up grave, they could have just dumped the dirt back in and nobody would've been the wiser.
