One more point that I may have missed - if the arakeesian bones are so precious and are normally used for the fleet ships and are often smuggled for a lot of money, why are the black ships even a thing? Why would such precious, massive ship be given to the people convicted for different reasons?
Plus, for a long time the Tide Child just stood out of service… and nobody tried to take it but Mees.

Somehow I like all strange and alien creatures in fantasy, some are often described as fair and somewhat trusting like Gullaime in this one. It is a powerful wind magician but used to serve. We get some crumbs of a backstory, to know that gullaime have a concept of family and are not that alien actually. Would be nice to know more about them.

One of the stories where I’m not trying to pinpoint what will happen next. It’s going slow cause I got little time for reading, however, this is also one of those books with consistent steady progression without cliffhangers in between (in my opinion), so I don’t feel frustrated when taking a break till the next day
