Stg, if I see one more contemporary romance that quotes Taylor Swift songs…🙄. Like, okay, I’m a fan of Taylor; been one since her very first album! But this is giving me secondhand embarrassment. It’s not quirky, it’s not cute, it’s just…so try-hard.

I see it in a lot of contemporary romances from UK authors / publishing houses for some reason. Not sure why. It's like...they're all written with a 2003 Chick Lit DNA (aspirational + "whimsy" + low to no stakes), plus Taylor Swift lyrics.
