I feel less alone the further I read this.

I feel like this book caught me at the perfect time in my life. Self preservation. The stories of these women and the author are so common and normalized. I felt so seen at some parts. The realization of “why am I the one feeling shame for reacting or not reacting to your objectively awful behavior?” The realization of being victimized and your body protecting you in a way that is debilitating. I’m enamored.
